Ethan 2020 Senior
I have to admit, even though I was so so sooooo excited to get back into the groove and start shooting again...a part of me was nervous!
It's been a while since I had someone in front of my camera that wasn't myself or my kids and so the smallest twinge of nerves began to set in. I think that's one reason why I love photography. I actually think that I perform really well under pressure. Probably from years of being a competitive cheerleader and having all your hardwork from the whole year come down to two and a half minutes. So when I get to a session and feel that little bit of nervy-discomfort, I know it's going to be a good day.
If Ethan was nervous, he didn't show it ONE BIT. He and I had a ton of fun walking around the Pearl with his mom and sister. I was introduced to this lovely family through a recent senior session giveaway that I conducted on my instagram. I know this year's seniors have been struggling with a ton of "missed moments." The giveaway was what I decided was the best thing to give back to a lucky senior who might want to capture this time in their life. Ethan told me about a few of the things he was looking forward to that were interrupted by coronavirus and that just made me so bummed for him. I loved all those highschool events and I know it's sad to miss out. Even while shooting we were attending his JROTC awards banquet at the same time online! #thankscovid #cantcancelonline
But, for all the talk of interrupted plans, I admired Ethan for looking ahead to his future and he was super excited to talk to me about his next steps, which include Norwich University for engineering. Norwich is one of six senior military colleges and recognized by the DoD as "The Birthplace of ROTC." Ethan, I wish you all the best in the years to come for your college career and your Air Force career!! I know you are going to be a great addition to the Air Force and our military.
Congratulations on your graduation!!!
